St. Edmund's School in Laitumkhrah, Shillong, is a Christian Brothers institution. Mgr. Edmund Becker first conceived it in 1894 as a boarding school for boys. The school opened in February 1916 with three pupils and was formally inaugurated that October on a site of about 24 acres of pine forest. It teaches from KG to Class XII under CISCE, with ICSE and ISC (Arts and Commerce) toppers listed on its website. Its students have recently won football titles such as the Founder's Cup, and the school also takes part in cricket and junior golf.
