About the School

Loreto House is a Catholic girls' school on Middleton Row run by the Loreto (IBVM) Sisters, who reached Kolkata in December 1841. Classes began on 10 January 1842 with 60 pupils. The school prepares students for the ICSE and ISC examinations and takes pupils from Lower Nursery (about age 4) to Class XII on a single campus. The campus has physics, chemistry, biology, home science, computer and AI labs, senior and middle libraries, and a literacy centre.
