About the School

La Martiniere for Boys is one of the two La Martiniere schools in central Kolkata, which opened on 1 March 1836 under the will of Major General Claude Martin, a Frenchman. The boys' school is affiliated to CISCE and teaches from Lower Nursery to Class XII, with students sitting the ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) examinations. It has more than 3,800 students. The school runs a trust fund for 'Foundationers', and its co-curricular programme covers sports, creative pursuits and community service.
