About the School

Synod Higher Secondary School was opened on 8 March 1962 by the Mizoram Presbyterian Church Synod at Mission Vengthlang, Aizawl, starting with 32 students and three teachers. Upgraded to higher secondary in 1996 with Science and later Arts streams, it now teaches over a thousand pupils a year in secondary and higher secondary sections under the Mizoram state board. Facilities include separate physics, chemistry and biology labs, a computer room, library, canteen, and separate boys' and girls' hostels, plus NSS, NCC and spiritual guidance activities.
