About the School
St. Michael's Academy in Gandhi Nagar, Adyar was started in 1953 by the Patrician Brothers as a nursery in the grounds of St. Patrick's High School. It became a fully co-educational school in 1975 and, after years as a matriculation higher secondary school, moved to the ICSE board in 2012-13. It runs from LKG to Class XII on a campus beside the Adyar River. Facilities include an air-conditioned auditorium, a library, science labs, a playground, a canteen, school buses and a nurse.
