About the School

Sainik School Kunjpura was founded on 24 July 1961, one of the first five schools set up by the Sainik Schools Society under the Ministry of Defence, on the initiative of then Defence Minister V.K. Krishna Menon. The fully residential CBSE school sits on a 276-acre campus off the G.T. Road about 8 km from Karnal and teaches Classes VI to XII, with science compulsory in the senior classes. About 622 cadets train for the NDA, with compulsory NCC, swimming, horse riding and an adventure club.
