Founded on 4 July 1943 by Maharani Gayatri Devi, MGD is a girls' school on a 26-acre campus on Sawai Ram Singh Road near Ajmeri Gate in Jaipur. It runs from pre-primary to Class XII, offers both CBSE and Cambridge International curricula, and takes day scholars as well as boarders, with five boarding houses. The campus has science, computer and home-science labs, senior and junior libraries, dance and music rooms, a swimming pool, courts, a cricket field, a stadium-cum-auditorium and an infirmary.
