Abhaya School, Gundla Pochampally

Abhaya is a Waldorf school on a four-acre campus at Gundla Pochampally, near Kompally on the northern edge of Hyderabad. A group of parents and teachers started it, and its name means fearlessness. The lower and middle school years follow a Waldorf curriculum based on Rudolf Steiner's ideas, while the upper school is integrated with the CBSE curriculum. Admissions run from playgroup to Class 12. The campus has two academic blocks, physics, chemistry, biology and maths labs, and a library of over 10,000 books. Art and craft rooms, a woodwork shed and a clay modelling area support hands-on learning, and there are grounds for cricket, football and other games.
