Parents of Class 10 and 12 students are asking one question right now: when will the CBSE 2027 date sheet come out? As of 30 September 2026, the official timetable has not been released. The board exams are expected between February and March 2027, and CBSE is expected to announce the schedule soon.
The two-exam system for Class 10
The biggest change this year is that Class 10 students can appear for board exams in two phases within the same academic year. Phase 1 is mandatory. Phase 2 is optional, meant for students who want to improve their scores or clear supplementary subjects. For families, this lowers the pressure of a single high-stakes exam. It also means schools need to plan revision and improvement support around two windows.
Private candidates: deadline on 21 October
CBSE opened the List of Candidates (LOC) submission for private candidates on 24 September. It runs until 21 October 2026 without a late fee. Students who want to appear privately should register within this window.
What stays the same
- Students need at least 33% in each subject to pass.
- Grades follow the nine-point scale, from A-1 to E.
- Sample papers are already available on the CBSE academic website (cbseacademic.nic.in).
What parents should do now
- Keep checking cbse.gov.in for the date sheet. Ignore unofficial PDFs on social media.
- Ask your child's school how it will handle the Phase 2 option.
- Use the released sample papers for timed practice.
